GAZA and HAMAS

GAZA and Hamas

There have been many reports complaining about the number of Palestinians that have been killed in Gaza by attacks from Israel. Not as much about the Israeli citizens that are living in shelters. Israel is retaliating against Gaza in order to stop Gaza from launching missiles on the Israeli population. I feel sorry for those who have been wounded or killed but Israel has the right to defend itself.

Ask yourself what you would do if Cuba or Canada began lobbing missiles into the U.S.A.

The fact is about 10 years ago Israel deeded Gaza to the Palestinians and removed all of their settlers (many by force) in an effort to bring peace. At that time the Palestinians (Arafat) claimed they would make Gaza into a Mecca of free trade (a new Singapore).

The people living in Gaza then elected Hamas (a Palestinian Islamic fundamentalist movement engaged in grassroots organizing and armed resistance and terrorism against Israel) to lead their government instead of Fatah which represents most of the other Palestinians in the region. This is the group (through the PLO) that is in negotiations with Israel over peace, Hamas is not included.

So, we have a situation where the people of Gaza elected their government (Hamas) and their government is bombing Israel. And instead of a new Singapore we have a welfare State dependent upon other nations for just about everything.

Since the trading of land for peace there have been three uprisings (including the current one) where Gaza launched rockets into Israel. So much for the effectiveness of that strategy!

The Iranian foreign minister, in a recent interview, refused to condemn Gaza saying they had been denied food and medicine and that they had a right to demand these products even if they have to launch missiles on Israel. Ironically, Iran is providing the missiles used by Hamas so one wonders why, if Iran is so concerned about food and medicine for the residents, they don’t supply these products instead of missiles.

The bottom line is that Hamas has no objective other than to eliminate Israel. They do not care about their wives, their children, their neighbors or economic progress or anything else.

See this interview where Megyn Kelly interviews the son of the co-founder of Hamas:

I suggest that these folks elect a new government or move because they are suffering due to the activities of their elected government.

And That’s that!
